WG-Disaster Meeting (April 19, 2020)

The meeting of the Working Group on Geospatial Information and Services for Disasters (WG-Disasters) was conducted on Monday, April 19, 2021, at 7 PM (local time). The meeting took about 2 hours and discussed the work plan and tasks of each group on disasters and Strategic Framework Assessment. Saeid (Adam) Pirasteh from the Faculty of Geosciences and Environmental Engineering (FGEE) represented the Southwest Jiaotong University in this meeting. On behalf of the Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU), Saeid delivered the willingness to contribute toGOAL: 1 FOSTER COMMUNICATION AND AWARENESS RAISING on delivering presentations at regional meetings, webinars, conferences etc. (Task Group C) and develop publications on WG and activities (Task Group A, B, C & D),and Goal: 2 IMPLEMENT THE STRATEGIC FRAMEWORK FOR DISASTERS on consulting with Secretariat on the global consultation process for the strategic framework (Task Group A). He also proposed the announcement of the joint event 6thEarth Observation Environmental Changes (EOEC) and 9thGeoinformation Technologies for Disaster Management (GiT4NDM), which will be held in the Xiamen University Malaysia Campus on December 3-5, 2021 (https://www.ierek.com/events/EOEC-7th&GiT4NDM-9th#threeconferencesonetheme).

SWJTU is a member of the Academic Network of United Nations-Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM).
